Indexed Tuition
We Believe Every Student Belongs
At The Burlington School, we believe a transformative education should be within reach for every family. If you are interested in a private school experience but have concerns about affordability, access and belonging are central to who we are.
Our Board of Trustees is committed to making a TBS education accessible to families from a wide range of financial circumstances. Every student is known and supported—academically, artistically, athletically, socially, and emotionally—within a close-knit learning community.
To support this commitment, The Burlington School offers an indexed tuition program, which adjusts tuition based on a family’s financial profile rather than a single flat rate.
What Is Indexed Tuition?
Indexed tuition replaces the traditional one-price model with a more personalized approach. Using a sliding scale, tuition is aligned with a family’s unique financial situation, helping more students access a TBS education.
How Does It Work?
Families who feel the highest tuition level may be beyond their reach may apply for indexed tuition. The Burlington School partners with Clarity, an independent third-party service, to review financial information objectively.
Clarity provides a confidential, need-based assessment and a recommended tuition contribution that reflects what a family can reasonably invest, allowing TBS to balance accessibility with the long-term strength of our school community.
We ask that families tour or apply to The Burlington School before completing the Clarity application.
