Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a teacher or substitute teacher preferred
  • Completion of Effective Teacher Training (at a community college) preferred

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency with regular routines and instruction

The Burlington School is seeking a Director of College Counseling to embrace the mission and values of the school while leading students and families through college selection, application and admissions procedures.This dynamic and dedicated professional will oversee a thriving and evolving program that seeks new approaches to serve and assist students as they navigate to future success in selecting colleges and universities.  

Qualifications:


• Minimum Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in college counseling highly preferred
• Experience in an independent school setting preferred

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, designs, and implements college counseling programs and events for students and families to assist them in proper planning for college
• Develops and implements successful new college counseling strategies and programs
• Personally counsels all students (8th grade-12th grade), assisting the 12th grade with college search, application process and writing comprehensive recommendation letters
• Communicates regularly and frequently with students and parents regarding the college admission process
• Advises students on academic and extra-curricular choices
• Builds and fosters strong relationships with selective college admission offices throughout the United States
• Stays current with trends in college admission, higher education and national testing
• Maintains current knowledge of the college financial aid process and works closely to support families applying for financial aid
• Manages all college counseling office data, systems and records, while ensuring the confidentiality of all information
• Provides regular reports to the Head of School and Board of Trustees
• Annually reviews college counseling policies, criteria, processes and requirements
• Serves as liaison between the college counseling office and the rest of school, including communicating information and updates on the admission process
• Oversees and guides the faculty writing of requested recommendations for students applying to college
• Identifies and establishes contact with schools that may be good matches for students through visits with college reps and campus visits 
• Coordinates visits to colleges and college fairs for families
• Oversees visits from college representatives to The Burlington School
 

The Burlington School is seeking a part-time US Rock Ensemble teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.  

 

Qualifications

- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- Prior experience teaching music in a school setting preferred

 

Duties and Responsibilities

-Teach one section of Rock Ensemble in the Upper School
-Teach one section of instrumental music in the Middle School
-Plan and orchestrate three concerts per year
-Facilitate community within the Middle and Upper Schools by participating in Arts events.
 

The Burlington School is seeking a full-time music teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.  

 

Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Music or Music Education
- Teaching license in music preferred
- Prior experience teaching music in a school setting preferred

 

Duties and Responsibilities
-Conduct general music classes for grades preschool through 4th grade.
-Teach Middle School performing arts electives.
-Develop and refine music curriculum based on national and state standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the arts faculty in planning and conducting performances (Fall Concert, May Day, etc.), as well as creating and implementing a cohesive arts program.
-Facilitate community within and across all school divisions.
-Assist with other duties, such as arrival/dismissal duties, as assigned.
-Attend required events outside of normal school hours.
