• Care for children after school in grades preschool 3s to 8.

    Hours are 2:30p - 5:30p, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for college schedules. Opportunities for more hours available on Teacher Workdays. 

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Active supervision and participation

    • Help with homework

    • Communication with parents at pick-up

    • General tidying up

    • Upholding the values of the school  

    Qualifications Include:

    • Minimum age of 18 years

    • Desire and ability to work with children

    • Able to lift 50lbs

    • Reliable, team player, excellent communication skills

    • CPR/First Aid Certified preferred, but willing to train

  • The Burlington School is seeking a preschool teacher to lead our PS4 classroom for the 2025-26 school year. This teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing lessons utilizing best practices in early childhood education.  Along with providing instruction, the teacher will be responsible for evaluating and reporting on student performance and will meet with families during student-led conferences twice per year.  Additionally, the teacher will be responsible for attending required events outside normal school hours.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Master’s degree and teaching license preferred

    • Experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote early learning skills such as language, motor, social, and emotional development to support each child's individual needs

    • Establish and maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.

    • Monitor and assess children's progress, documenting their developmental milestones and communicating with parents regularly.

    • Promote positive behaviors and help children develop social skills, such as cooperation, empathy, and conflict resolution.

    • Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and safe at all times.

    • Foster a love for learning by introducing creative and engaging activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, music, and games.

    • Observe children’s behavior and report concerns or issues to supervisors or parents.

    • Support children during transitions (such as during snack time, outdoor play, and lunchtime).

    • Maintain compliance with all school and regulatory policies and procedures.

    • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other educators and staff.

  • Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree required

    • Teacher license preferred

    • Prior experience preferred

    ·  Teaching 5 classes of Upper School Math (most likely Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra III)

    ·  Serve as an advisor to students grades 9-12

    ·  Travel with a group to a fall class trip (4 days, 3 nights)

    ·  Facilitate community within the Upper School

    ·  Attend required events outside of normal school hours

    We are looking for a full-time Upper School math teacher. In addition, the teacher will be an advisor to a small group of students, helping to develop social-emotional growth, as part of our mission is to develop the whole child. Other duties involve traveling with a group to a fall class trip and helping facilitate community within the school.
