TBS is excited to offer Enrichment Classes during the 2021-22 school year! Enrichment Class opportunities will be posted on this webpage and in The Oracle. 
 
Enrichment Classes will take place on campus after school. Specific details for each class, such as grade levels, registration fee, dates and times of class meetings and class instructor, will be posted on this webpage. Below is a list of general details for all Enrichment Classes.
 
  • Any TBS student may attend an Enrichment Class. The instructor will determine the grade level(s) that may register for each class.
  • Enrichment Class details, including the registration form, will be posted on this webpage and will be shared in The Oracle.
  • Registration forms must be completed by a parent/guardian. 
  • The registration fee and any associated supply fees will be drafted by TBS from a parent/guardian’s bank account. If a bank draft authorization form is not on file with our business office, please complete the form found here. If you have questions about the form, please contact our Business Manager, Donna Jones, at djones@theburlingtonschool.org.
  • Students who are enrolled in Extended Day will be dismissed from their classrooms at the end of the instructional day and will check in with Extended Day staff. Students will be dismissed from Extended Day at the start of the Enrichment Class and may return to Extended Day once the Enrichment Class has ended.
  • Students who are not enrolled in Extended Day will be dismissed from their classrooms at the end of the instructional day and go to the meeting location for the Enrichment Class. At the end of the Enrichment Class, students will wait with the instructor for pick up at the front of the Lower and Middle School building. We kindly request that students are picked up within 10 minutes of the end of the Enrichment Class.
Healthful Habits REGISTER
Come join Coach Heather and enjoy some of your favorite HL games after school! We will work on cooperative play, communication and teamwork during this active, but educational, enrichment class. At the end of each class, we will talk about healthy habits for our bodies, such as food, sleep, screen time and stress. We also will enjoy a healthy snack of our choice (provided by Coach Heather).
 
Details:
  • This Healthful Habits class is for students in grades TK-1 (see below for a class for students in grades 2-4). Registration is limited to 20 students. 
  • The class will meet on the following dates: December 7, December 9, December 14 and December 16. Class will be from 2:30-3 p.m. and will meet in the gym. 
  • The fee (including supplies) is $60. The fee will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account. 
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration closes on Friday, December 3.

  • The class will meet on the following Thursdays: January 6, January 13, January 20 and January 27. Class will be from 2:45-3:15 p.m. and will meet in the gym (students in grades 3-4 will be dismissed from their classrooms a few minutes early to attend). 
  • The fee (including supplies) is $60. The fee will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account. 
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration closes on Tuesday, January 4.

Math Made EASY – REGISTER
In Math made EASY, led by Mr. Gerlach, Middle School students will learn how to use a graphing calculator. Students will go beyond basic computation and will be introduced to the nuances of graphing a line. Students will get hands-on practice using a graphing calculator.
 
Details:
  • Math Made EASY is for Middle school Students and is limited to 20 students.
  • Math Made EASY will meet on the following Thursdays:  January 6, January 13, January 20, January 27, February 3 and February 10.
  • Class will meet from 3:30-4 p.m. in Mr. Gerlach's Middle School classroom. Students will travel to his classroom in the Upper School building together.  
  • The fee is $75 and will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account.
  • TBS will provide a graphing calculator to use during the class. If you have your own TI-83 or TI-84, please bring it with you!
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration will close on Tuesday, January 4.

Spanish in Action – REGISTER
Spanish in Action, led by Señora Hemmings, was designed for students to enjoy hands-on learning through arts and crafts, outdoor activities, experiments, singing, dancing, games, and much more all while developing their Spanish vocabulary and improving their communicative competence.
 
Details:
  • Spanish in Action is for TK-4th grade students. Registration is limited to 25 students.
  • Spanish in Action will meet on the following Fridays: January 7, January 14, January 21, January 28 and February 4. Class will meet from 3:30-4:15 p.m. in the science lab.
  • The fee (including supplies) is $100 and will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account.
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration will close on Tuesday, January 4.

Storybook STEMREGISTER
Storybook STEM is back! Does your little one have a knack for building, engineering and creating?  Beginning in January, your child has the chance to make his or her favorite story come alive each week with Mrs. McCabe! In Storybook STEM, classic fairy tales and stories come alive through science, technology, math and the arts. These hands-on STEM activities are sure to inspire the very youngest of readers and inventors.
 
Details:
  • Storybook STEM is for students in grades K-2. Registration is limited to 25 students. 
  • The class will meet on the following Thursdays: January 13, January 20, January 27, February 3, February 10, February 17, February 24, March 3, March 17, March 24, March 31, April 7, April 21 and April 28. Class will be from 3:15-3:45 p.m. and will meet in Mrs. McCabe's room. 
  • The fee (including supplies) is $240. The fee will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account. 
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration closes on Friday, January 7.

Girls on the Move – REGISTER
Girls on the Move, led by Miss Shoe, will inspire young girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident! Students will learn about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through fitness, life-skill learning opportunities and exercises that promote confidence in oneself. This will be an experience that young girls will benefit from for years to come!
 
Details:
  • Girls on the Move is for girls in grades 1-4. Registration is limited to 20 students. 
  • The class will meet on the following Tuesdays: February 8, February 15, February 22, March 1, March 8 and March 15. Class will be from 3:15-3:45 p.m. and will meet in Miss Shoe's room. 
  • The fee (including supplies) is $80. The fee will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account. 
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration closes on Friday, February 4.

Habitat HeroesREGISTER
Habitat Heroes, led by Mrs. Falkner, will learn about ecosystems around the world while practicing problem solving skills through hands-on learning experiences using literacy, STEM, exploration and more!
 
Details:
  • Habitat Heroes is for students in grades 2-3. Registration is limited to 15 students. 
  • The class will meet on the following Wednesdays: February 9, February 16, February 23, March 2, March 9 and March 16. Class will be from 3:15-3:45 p.m. and will meet in Mrs. Falkner's room. 
  • The fee (including supplies) is $90. The fee will be drafted from a parent/guardian's bank account. 
  • Please complete a separate registration form for each student. Registration closes on Friday, February 4.
